About ICS-Global

About Our Founder

Murray Woolf, PMP, is president of the International Center for Scheduling, Inc., which he founded in 2006 as his response to the number of challenges facing Construction Project Time Management in North America. His vision is that ICS-Global, through its numerous Service Divisions, will become the largest for-profit Construction Project Time Management organization in North America, by offering Planning, Scheduling, Training, Research, Consulting, Recruitment, Collaboration, and other vital services. ICS-Global’s one-stop shop is tailored for Contractors, Owners, Consultants, Lawyers, and PTM Practitioners.

Murray has more than 48 years of hands-on experience in Program/Project Management, Project Controls, Training, Consulting, and Dispute Resolution, virtually all within the Construction Industry. Across his busy career, he has served on more than 190 projects worldwide, with a combined value of $26 billion, $10B domestically and $16B overseas. He has personally managed 27 projects spanning a range from $100K to $62M, having a collective contract value of over $148 million.

He has spent the last 15 years “giving back to an Industry that has served me and my family so well for so long.” He enjoys mentoring and guiding Field Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Directors, and Senior Executives on ways to improve overall Project Outcomes of construction projects of every type, size, and complexity. Drawing on decades of hard-earned knowledge, he has a wealth of guidance to share.

Murray is the inventor of numerous Scheduling and Project Management innovations, including Momentum Management, Dilemma Forecasting, Dominant Paths, Network Reverse Pass Calculation, Project Facilitation, Project Navigation, Cognitive Project Management, Performance Intensity, Discrete Activity Float, Schedule Resiliency, Schedule Vulnerability, and many more.

Murray is a frequent and popular speaker on Construction Project Management topics. He ranked #3 out of 101 presenters at AACEI’s Annual conference in Nashville, and was the Keynote Speaker at the College of Scheduling’s 3rd Annual Conference in Orlando, in 2006. He has served as a member of the board of directors of the PMI College of Scheduling, and three years as the founding Managing Director and Vice President of the College’s Scheduling Excellence Initiative.

Murray is the author of McGraw-Hill’s Faster Construction Projects with CPM Scheduling, the Foreword to which was contributed by the inventor of Construction Management itself, the late James J. O’Brien. Jim and Fred Plotnick are co-authors of CPM in Construction Management — since 1972, the #1 best-selling text on the Critical Path Method!

Murray’s second text, CPM Mechanics, has been a favorite among Contractors and Owners alike, no doubt because it was written with the Construction Project Manager or Field Superintendent squarely in mind. Nearly 500 pages and heavily illustrated, it is written in an easy-to-follow conversational style. The book assumes the reader will have no prior understanding of Construction Scheduling, of the Critical Path Method, or of Construction Means and Methods. CPM Mechanics is the first book in the ICS-Compendium series and the primary text for the foundational course by the same name, offered through the ICS-Institute.
